Secret Smoothie

The secret ingredient? Kale! But you would never guess it. I’m always looking to include more greens in my diet, and this smoothie is the perfect way to do that. I adapted this recipe from jae steele’s Green Smoothie recipe in Get it Ripe and enjoyed it for breakfast this morning.

Secret Smoothie — adapted from Get it Ripe’s Green Smoothie

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup packed organic baby kale (or grown-up kale)
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy milk (I used homemade cashew milk: 1/2 cup filtered water + 3 tablespoons raw cashews)
  • 1/2 cup filtered water

If making homemade milk, blend ingredients for milk first. Add banana, strawberries, kale, milk and filtered water to a blender or food processor. Blend until creamy.

Yield: 1 serving
