The secret ingredient? Kale! But you would never guess it. I’m always looking to include more greens in my diet, and this smoothie is the perfect way to do that. I adapted this recipe from jae steele’s Green Smoothie recipe in Get it Ripe and enjoyed it for breakfast this morning.
Secret Smoothie — adapted from Get it Ripe’s Green Smoothie
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
- 1 cup packed organic baby kale (or grown-up kale)
- 1/2 cup non-dairy milk (I used homemade cashew milk: 1/2 cup filtered water + 3 tablespoons raw cashews)
- 1/2 cup filtered water
If making homemade milk, blend ingredients for milk first. Add banana, strawberries, kale, milk and filtered water to a blender or food processor. Blend until creamy.
Yield: 1 serving
