This is a pretty boring recipe to post, but I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather lately so I’ve been drinking this tea tonic a few times a day to give my immune system a little boost. Ginger and garlic are amazing natural healers. It’s pretty simple and the measurements are flexible, just use whatever you think seems right and it will turn out fine, I promise.
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- thumb-sized piece of gingerroot, peeled and chopped
- lemon juice (a few splashes)
- maple syrup (a few splashes)
- cayenne pepper (a few pinches)
- just-boiled water
Add all ingredients except water to a glass or mug. Pour hot water in and let steep for 7-10 minutes or so. Drink (once it’s cooled a bit, of course ;))! Adjust lemon juice/maple syrup if you think it needs more. I actually really like the taste of this tea, even though garlic in tea sounds kind of gross, but the rest of the ingredients balance it out. I love the spiciness of the cayenne!
